A Public Outreach Programme on GSTAT was organised by the GST & IDTC on 22nd June 2026 at ICAI Mumbai. Shri Rajeev Purushottam Pande, Hon’ble Vice-President, GSTAT (Maharashtra & Goa), delivered the Keynote Address. Hon’ble Members of the Mumbai, Pune and Thane Benches shared valuable insights on the GSTAT appeal filing framework and procedures. CA. Umesh Sharma, Chairman, and CA. Rajendra Kumar P, Vice-Chairman, GST & IDTC, ICAI, were also present.
GST & IDTC had organised Two Days National Conference on GST dated June 20 and 21, 2026 which was jointly hosted by Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Branch (WIRC), Dhule & Branch (WIRC), Nanded Branch (WIRC) and the same was graciously inaugurated by Honourable CA. Mangesh Kinare, Vice President, ICAI and CA. Umesh Sharma, Chairman, GST & IDTC and other dignitaries whose esteemed presence commemorate the occasion, setting an exemplary tone for insightful and impactful discussions.

The GST & Indirect Taxes Committee, ICAI organised a Public Outreach Programme on GSTAT in Chennai on 9th May 2026.Hon’ble President, GSTAT, Justice Dr. Sanjaya Kumar Mishra, the Chief Guest, along with Hon’ble Vice President Shri Praveen Kumar Jain and Hon’ble Members of GSTAT, addressed the gathering and interacted with stakeholders through an engaging Q&A session on the evolving GST appellate framework. About the Committee

The GST & Indirect Taxes Committee is one of the most important non-standing Committees of the ICAI. The main function of the Committee is to examine the indirect taxes laws, rules, regulations, circulars, notifications etc., which may be enacted or issued by the Government from time to time and to send suitable memoranda containing suggestions for improvements in the respective legislation. The GST & Indirect Taxes Committee actively facilitates the process of formulation of budget by offering pre-budget and post-budget suggestions/comments to simplify tax laws and their administration for the purpose of making it more responsive to tax payers..
