A tailor-made five-day training programme on GST was organized at Patna from 25th to 29th April, 2022 with special focus on service sectors as an outreach event for the capacity building of the officials of the Commercial Taxes Department, Bihar. Shri Tarkishore Prasad, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar inaugurated the training programme and appreciated the contribution made by ICAI in GST knowledge dissemination. Dr. Pratima, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Commercial Taxes Department, was also present in the inaugural session. 88 officials from the level of Assistant Commissioner to Joint Commissioner attended the said training programme. The training programme included sessions on GST law pertaining to real estate, insurance, telecom, and banking sectors as well as the analysis of financial statements of the entities of these sectors, classification, scrutiny and analysis of returns, audit plan, analysis of financial statements and common errors in GST. The training programme received incredibly positive feedback from the participants and was widely covered by the media.
