Tax laws in India are becoming more and more complex and more so in the case of indirect taxes (especially in Service Tax). Frequent changes in taxation through Finance Acts, Notifications and Circulars are one of the significant features of Service tax laws. Appreciating these increasing complexities and changing facade of Service Tax, the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has decided to launch a Certificate Course on Service Tax. The participants are expected to have basis working knowledge of the subject.
The Course aims to facilitate the members in industry as well in practice by:
- Providing specialized and updated knowledge in the area of Service Tax in a systematic manner;
- Enhancing analytical and problem solving skills for decision making.
Only the members of the ICAI are eligible to pursue this course
Members of ICAI means: "Chartered Accountant" who is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India constituted under this Act 1949.

Course Duration and Course Hours
10 (Ten) days class rooms studies on weekends (i.e Every Saturday and Sunday), Time: 9.30am to 5.30pm.
The faculty for the course will be a combination of practicing Chartered Accountants, advocates, academicians and experts in the field of indirect taxes to provide the members an in-depth technical as well as practical knowledge.
Fees for the Course
- Rs.18,000 for Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur.
- Rs.12,000 for Other Cities.

A certificate will be awarded to the members on successful completion of course and passing the examination.
30 Structured CPE Hours would be given to member (The minimum requirement recommended by the CPE Committee for a Calendar year for the members in practice)
